I'm not totally sure, but I would bet you're right. Some people read things through like that famous guy who can't talk in anything but monotone (damnit, what's his name..). It's funny, just how a word can have two separate meanings, a whole sentence can have a separate meaning by the certain expression you use while saying it in your head.

Btw, (this is pretty obvious, but meh) I like it when people use:

that's why I use it, and that's why I like your humor as well. You do that exact thing.
