official wii sd card wont format!

Hi all

Today I got my sd card for my wii. I tried to format my sd card on my wireless laptop but for some reason it wont let me do it !!! does anyone know why?
Do I really need to do this in the first place?
The sd card works fine in my wii so no problems there !

why did you one? nintendo just ripped you off. i got a 2GB SD card for £10 ($20) which includes p&p.

you dont need to format your SD card

actually i won it off ebay for £4.74 including postage lol so im not complaining.
dont i need to format the sd card to put music onto it then?

fair enought.

no, "format" means deleting everything, formatting can knock a few MB's off your SD card. just place music on your SD card (mp3) format i think
