Optimal Wii Space

I am trying too determine the optimal floor space required for my Wii. Removing any tables and ottomans, how many feet should there be between the TV and the couch? How many feet should there be from side to side? Is 8 feet x 8 feet sufficient? 10 x 10? 12 x 12?

How far back from the sensor bar do they recommend you stand?

You will know if it is not right, if it works comfortably then it is perfect. the sensor bar is very robust.
