Question About "Unapproved Message"

I just had my buddy create an account and joined Wii Chat. When he sent me a visitor message it came up as a unapproved message and on the top of his post it said message being moderated. Does anyone know why it might be happening? I have never seen this before.

"Moderated" tends to mean a mods done something to it.
The person might of been mistaken for a bot.
