Whats with all the accounts banned. Like elopez and ibeef, are they really banned?

I know its pissing me off. A lot of other people are bannned that I know but too lazy to mention.

Blaaaaah! I had an important trade on DP with him, and the mods ruined it.. I thought the ban wasn't lifted yet. -.-;;;; That's some bull right there... Oh well, nothing to do about it now...
Yeah, beef was banned. Same reason for Elopez actually, I saw it in a thread before the posts got deleted. I think it was for more than just responding to spam. Won't say any more than that, though.
You know, the ironic thing is that the n00b who spammed never got banned...

I can't believe people get ban for replying to spam...I see that happen every day. Heck mods, you might as well ban me.
I fail to see why responding to spam is even a problem.
It's not like they have to delete every single post in the thread, they can just delete the thread as a whole. I know they can, I've seen multi-page threads disappear in an instant.

Deleting posts, and deleting a good thread with a n00b that invaded it, are entirely different things. That's really the case for why Elopez and Beef were banned, really - the thread was invaded by that(still unbanned...)newbie and started a fight, and some spam went on. Why delete a great thread when you only need to delete about 15 posts?
On the other hand, if the thread is just spam, no issues from me. I think deletes should still only be reserved for when an entire thread breaks out into chaos and flamming, though.

Elopez was banned for a replying to threads that were advertisements. The threads were just going to be deleted as a whole.
It's really dumb to ban new(or returning) members without warning. Usually they just figure "well **** this place, I can see I'm not welcome" and go elsewhere and never come back.

People don't often get banned for replying to spam. It's normally just a warning or a short ban to repeat offenders. The problem with these users is they made dupe accounts once they were banned, one even spammed porn over the forum. So a longer ban was completely justified.

I'm just saying it is a good idea to let some things slip when it comes to new or returning members if you wish for them to return. This is a pretty inactive forum and we should try and hold on to our regulars and potential regulars. It's not like this is gamefaqs or anything, you can't say that this forum is hard to control. I really don't want to see this forum die.
