8 bits mean that should be standard ASCII and not Uni-code (16 bits)
I know 01100001 is A and 01100101 is E...

I give up, I can't get the second one. I'm sure its something really simple I'm missing but I can't spot it >_<

DAMN CABE??? U reverse the numbers that end with a zero. The 28 I did 28 - 26 = 2(B). Also, the letters were mixed. And i had to switch the words.
