Lol, I'm going to Queensland tomorrow and didn't want to take my DS because they might keep it because they think it's a weapon of some sort.

Don't worry you can play your DS on the plane, just take it in your hand luggage. You are not permitted to use it whilst the seatbelt sign is on (no electronic devices are allowed during this time) but once that goes off you can play as much as your heart desires. I played mine on a trip up North and I had no problems. They didn't think it was a weapon ;) !

They thought my knife was a weapon when I went. I was only going to use it to put vegimite on my DS! I mean, what can a knife do to harm someone? They are harmless!

Nintendo Australia said:
Wii reaches 100,000 – in record time.

Australia, Melbourne, June. 21st, 2007 - After securing, and holding, the Australian record for the biggest launch of a video game system in history*. , Wii has now officially broken through the 100,000* install-base mark in Australia. Claiming the new title of fastest selling home console to reach 100,000*.

“We are pleased that Wii has achieved this benchmark, but we are ecstatic that it attained this whilst also reaching new audiences and expanding the scope of our entire industry” explains Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We promised we would bring gaming to the masses, I think this is proof that we are heading in the right direction”.

At an SRP of just $A399.95, the Wii package includes one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk controller and the groundbreaking collection of five different Wii Sports games on one disc, which anyone can play using simple movements, experienced or not. “Wii Sports is still performing very well as a primary vehicle to encourage non-gamers towards trying out the Wii experience” says Lappin.

The Wii recently witnessed the release of its first Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection title, Mario Strikers Charged Football. Upon it’s first week of launch, this game rose to the #1 spot out of all games across all platforms*. Players climb the rankings boards as they compete to the region they are playing in. Players are matched up with opponents of similar skill levels through a rankings-based matchmaking system.

More mature players will also get there fix on July 5th, with the release of Resident Evil 4 Wii edition. Capcom's pulse-pounding game makes great use of the Wii Remote functionality to help players aim directly at the screen when shooting and battle there way through fearsome environments.

On July 19th, the world's enormously popular party video game is getting a lot crazier in Mario Party 8. Whether you're shaking up cola cans or lassoing barrels, you and your friends will be drawn into the action like never before using the Wii Remote.

We are also please to confirm that Super Paper Mario will be hitting Australian shores in September. Like a story ripped from the pages of a paperback novel, Mario has the ability to switch between a 2-D and 3-D perspective. With the motion-sensitive and pointing abilities of the Wii Remote, this first Mario game for Wii delivers the goods. September will also see the release of PANGYA! Golf with Style, which lets players experience fantasy golf with real swings!

For those that dont want to read: 100000 Wiis sold in Aus, the quickest to ever reach that number. Super Paper Mario to come to Aus in September.

Nintendo is doing something right! Mario drops to 5th and Zelda reenters at 10th, over 6 months after it's initial release!

God damn catz horsez and petz, the z is not cute guys, come on, stop buying these games!!!!! (Not referring to the people on wiichat, just people in general)

*takes a huge breathe*

Nintendo and Sony have also decided to take Manhunt 2 off their consoles after the game received an AO (Adults Only) rating in America. Looks like 360 might be the only platform left, and PC, but I cant remember what it was supposed to be coming out on in the first place!

Oceanic OUT

Lots to say...well write....

I went down to the shops after work cause I needed to grab a new battery for my phnoe (its all retarded and won't charge). So that was all fine I got the battery and decided hey why not see if strikers is anywhere in the shopping centre;
Target.....nope....
KMart.....got excited but they were jsut display boxes :(.......
Dicksmith (Story about this below)......nothing.......
EB (Yes I tried them even though they hadn't called me).......Nothing, although I found out I can trade in two games to get Zelda TP......
Harvey Norman (Yes my Harvey Norman has Wii stuff :wtf:).......Yes but for $115!!!......
So I frowned :(, nowhere had it, I was gonna tell EB to put my money I'd already paid to store credit or something but since no wehre else had it I didn't.....

Anyhoo story from Dicksmith I think this might be one of the first stores to actaully have a wii demo station set up (well they were setting it up when I was their) they had some cord attached to the wii remote where the wrist strap should be, which I don't know if its a good idea but we shall see...

It sounded longer when I thourhgt about what I was going to write....

I have been absent due to exams but now they have finished YAY HOLIDAYS!!!

I soo want to get pokemon but for some reason i couldnt be assed to do the 40 minute train ride, so maybe tomorrow.

I really want to get Half Life 2 and probably will get it on a cd (if i can find it anywhere) cause Australia's Broadband S U C K S B I G T I M E.

Heck, the fastest speed u can possibly buy is like 18MB and that is nothing compared to the 600MB of other countries. So downloading HL2 is a no no.
And steam sucks big time too.

/end rant

I really want strikers sobs!

Damn, I thought you had Strikers; in fact I thought everyone that's posted recently in this thread has Strikers. :p

Anyway, you should try the JB at The Galleries Victoria (assuming you live somewhere around Sydney); they had like 19 on Tuesday. Got mine from there that day on my way home. :D You should give them a call.

I just noticed, Buzz is still beating Wii games! HA! GO BUZZ! I love that game :D:D

Darn Super Paper Mario and its 5 month after US release, I want it now
