Wii in Australia thread

I actually quite liked AVP. Plus, I've seen far worse movies that are considered 'masterpieces', and I believe a few actors and actress have even won Oscars for their performances in these movies. There is this movie by Nicole Kidman, called something like Dogville, and on her IMDB board people were listing her best movies - and practically every single one put Dogville on it. I hated that movie. I turned it off very quickly. Yet so many people loved it? Not sure if she won any awards for it... But she won an Oscar for The Hours. I didn't think the movie was that great - now while Nicole only won Best Actress, it was still nominated for Best Picture. I certainly didn't think it was that good. Of course, that's my opinion.

I dislike Alien. I actually fell asleep in it, and for me that doesn't happen often. I find it very difficult - no matter how boring - to fall asleep infront of a movie. Yet despite this people say 'AVP sucks - Alien rocked!' and things like that. While that's their opinion, I completely disagree with them. I also completely disagree with peoples statements of 'you have to be retarded to enjoy this movie.' Now, nobody said it here - but I've seen it said hundreds of times before on IMDB. Its like people can't respect other peoples opinions. I can completely understand why people didn't like AVP, yet I still liked it.

AVP 2 couldve been good, cept the dry humour, terrible one liners, even worse acting, pathetic camera work, that final showdown fight... all you could see the entire time was their faces... it was like two aliens making out. The movie has been 4 years in the making and it turns out liek this rubbish. There were many laughs in the cinema, a round of applause when the 'cute girl next door' finally died. It wasnt scary at all. The movie was too dark 1/2 the time to know what the hell was going on. There was too much Americanism in it... "whos gonna 'save the day?' American military of course!" Then there was all the corny terrorist statements/jokes. The inclusion of too many unnecessary nerdy jokes. The whole underlining love story was poorly put together and completely unnecessary..... Must I go on? This movie was typical American trash. I dont mind Action or Thriller movies, but AVP2 had very small doses of each and didnt know when to use either appropriately. Sure there was lots of violence and killing but if it wasnt for this inclusion I would have fallen asleep...literally.
Please dont go and see this movie, but if you do get ready for some light-hearted jokes, a dodgily put together, predictable love story, a look at how Americans view terrorism, many unnecessary side stories. Oh and a couple of aliens and a predator causing some nasty **** to some people who by the end of the movie you'll feel glad finally had their lives ended, and I'm sure they too were glad to get out of this total cash-in of a great franchise runied.
2/10 (Theres still a nice amount of violence to keep you from falling asleep...but only just).

Time for some sad news :sad: my cat got put down this afternoon/arfternoon, however I'm not actually very upset about it, well as upset as I was about my first cat dying. More happy about it actually, I guess its cause how he's been for the last month that its nice to see him at peace. Ahwell he was a good cat, almost 20 years old (In March) so that's almost 97 cat years, decent effort.

No no, I thought no.1 was good, so I went into no.2 thinking that 4years in the making wouldve been enough time to make a decent sequel...was obviously wrong :p
 
i got my self cod4 for my computer it rocks it has broken my wow addiction... yay im free... anyways SMG doesnt appeal to me atm the next game i get might be that online soccer one... or ill just wait for brawl or mod2
