Perhaps the first indication of the popularity level of Nintendo’s new console; online retailer Amazon.com has sold out of pre-orders on the Wii. There is no information on how many units were sold (pre-ordered), but the Wii was the 6th best selling games hardware on the Amazon list, which means that probably quite a lot were sold.
According to a comment made by a customer, the Wii pre-orders went live on the morning of September 15, and were sold out a few hours later. The total price for the console, including shipping, was $283,83.
