i thought it was a good idea to have a wiivideo channel on the sight where people put there videos

Do you mean on the actual wii? Because you can view some video files on the photo channel. They should have a music channel though.

I don't really feel a need to upload videos though, but that's just me.

You can post up the link to the video (such as youtube) in tags and it will be put in a Wii Chat media box thing which others can view.
