Word association game ---> One word posts ONLY

kinda lawl

I was pointin' out the irony of your previous post. Ya said you wouldn't use a word without knowin' it's meanin'... yet you called a chemical formula a word which is not true, implyin' you don't understand the definition of "word" itself. A bit of trollish humor, is all.

i don't really care if im not convincing you, as everyone is free to believe what they wish. simply put, i am presenting you with accurate information, however what you do with said information is up too you.

Show me ya dictionaries!

A chemical formula is not a word, it's a string of words used to identify the chemical properties in said chemical. Furthermore, back in my day of debates, chemical formulae bein' classified as words (Titin specificaly, for obvious reasons) was a topic of debate. To this day, it still is. Titin's formula is not officially a word, even if you think it applies to the definition of "word". In the wholly hypothetical situation you somehow proved my former point wrong, ya still can't deny it's not recognized by the proper higher lingual authorities.

:mad2:well....shaddup!
i will admit that it hasn't yet been reconized by aforementioned linguistic specialists.
however if it where to be put in a dictionary it would take up quite a large space, which is most likely the reason it hasn't been included in a dictionary so far. i am also quite sure that this is the reason it is denied the opportunity to techniquely be a 'word'. though i still believe it falls under the general definition of 'word' due to the fact that it is an unbroken string of letters used to as a proper name for a molecule, which is in itself, otherwise quite ordinary. considering the fact that its only other call to fame would be it is the largest protein found to-date. though considering the size of dna molecules titin is quite small really, i believe the 3b chromosome in wheat would contain over 8 million letters.

Molecules 'n chromosomes? Think I'll save that sort'a discussion for once I beat X's story.

what am i approaching you mental limit? do you not understand or simply not wish to partake in the conversation any further?

The latter. Been bloody ages since I took interest in genetics, neuroscience 'n all that jazz. Hell if I remember a single damn fact. Would take too much Google t' refresh my memory.

... That, and it'd be one borin' conversation. I'd almost rather crunch numbers than gawk at a string'a proteins. Almost. I ain't cared 'bout scientific conversation for years. 'Less it includes ruminations on either fish or explosions, obvsly.

...the field of genetics turned away once again, and this time by a fish no less
curse my love of all things scientific and technological!
the simplified side is interesting for those that don't care for reading, also the fact that a single change can completely ruin the body begs the question how the f*ck did nature do it?
its so interesting to me but to know one else -_-#
