Buy in USA play in UK...

Hi I live in England and am about to go to America on vacation. Can I buy a Wii in America, take it back and play it in the UK? Many thanks.

im pretty sure that you cant, because most threads are saying that the wii is region locked, meaning you would technically be able to play it in the UK, but you would need to have all of your wii games imported from the states :sick: . also, i doubt you'll be able to find a wii here if you're coming any time soon.

You cannot use an american wii in the UK because of the region lock, america is NTSC and UK along with europe and austrailia i believe is PAL, also im not sure you would be able to pick up the correct power lead unless it is same as GC because wii comes out on the 8th in UK, and they are selling fast apparently. If you could do this then imports would be flying in, however it is one of the factors that affects the release dates being different.
