GamesIndustry International has a report today that will gladden the hearts of all those who were a little disappointed by the lack of big third-party games for the serious gamer at Nintendo’s Wii U presentation at E3. According to Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, Call of Duty: Black Ops II may well be hitting the Wii U when it’s launched this holiday season. GamesIndustry International spoke to both Activision and the game’s developer, Treyarch, at E3 last week, with Activision Publishing head Eric Hirshberg telling the website, “We take our time to get our ducks in a row before pulling any trigger. We don’t have announcements today but we will be supporting Wii U.” While Hirshberg would not comment directly about the Wii U other than that general statement, he did say that Activision has been using second-screen enhancements since last year, with Call of Duty Elite, and seeing how well that works as an accompaniment to gameplay, as “that sidecar as they’re playing.”

Treyarch boss Mark Lamia was also reticent to say too much about the Wii U to GamesIndustry International, but he did mention the new Wii U Pro Controller, saying that it “appears to be a controller that would be really good for first-person shooter games. It just so happens that’s what we specialize in.”
