Change of tv

I have recently purchased a LG 47LM640 smart 3d tv, and connected my Wii via the 3 to 1 jack plugs/sockets, as suggested. Unfortunately, although all programmes work, I have very little control over the controllers. On some games (Margot's Word Brain) the curser jumps all over the place, and on others (Wii Sports), there is a lag on the reponse which make games like tennis impossible. I have tried changing all available settings, both on the tv and the console, but with no luck. Has anybody else had this problem and managed to resolve it please ?
