Most games are directly ported to the DS from the N64.
It might have a few new vehicles tracks and characters but I don't see a huge difference in gameplay or graphics.

I have it, it's definatley better than MKDS due to having no snaking...but it's still not quite as good as it originally was back almost 10 years ago. Basically it's the same game with touchscreen ideas from hell and online play.
It's not a must get, but you might like it.
