Do you need a GC memory card to save GC games?

Can you save GC game data on the wii's hard drive or do you have to have a GC memory card?

i think so. it looks like it's always looking for slot a or b to save.

Yes you have to have a memory card because as far as the game knows it is running on a gamecube which doesn't have internal memory.

Yes, and make sure you spend a little more for one with enough memory. I got a 16mb, 1019 block, 16x card made by Intec for $20. There were some for less $$ that had as little as 60 blocks but when each game you use takes 7, 10, or more blocks that's too limited.
