Personally, I don't rate all films on an absolute scale, since I just can't compare whether one comedy is better than an action film, for example. They're too different.

But here are some of my favorites, in no order:

Versus - Japanese live-action samurai zombie revenge flick
Lawrence of Arabia
Yojimbo
My Neighbor Totoro
Princess Mononoke
The Lion King

But in general, my favorite types of movies are action/suspense films, especially those that make you think. I also like martial arts and sci-fi/fantasy and comedies. I like dramas somewhat, and I am not really too much on horrors and romance films.
