help with vc and gc controller

hi im trying to use a pelican pl-7057 game cube controller with super metroid on the virtual console and the wii isnt recognizing my controller, i just bought it a few hours ago and im not sure whats wrong
i would be thankful for any help you can give me

Your prob is its a third party controller and the wii dont like forgen objects (not like that you dirty minded feckers)

Take it back and get the offical controller

the guy at gamestop told me that any gc controller would work with my wii, i guess he was wrong

That happened to me. I bought a third party controller from GAME. It worked with Gamecube games but not the VC. I just got a classic controller in the end. The button layouts are a bit better IMO.
