Help!

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I need help on the 3rd level of the first world on Sonic the Hedgehog

When Eggman or whatever his name is comes with the machine,I jump at his robot thing and it becomes white,and I keep doing it,but I never beat him!

That is probably how you beat him,just keep jumping at his main center,but I just want to be sure.

The pattern goes as follows

• stand under one of the side platforms
• when the ball swings away, jump onto the platform and then at robotnik
• IMMEDIATELY, run back into the corner under the platform
• repeat 8 times

I'm fairly sure every boss in the 2D Sonic games has to be hit 8 times. Like a tradition or something.
