How do I sync a new 360 Controller for my 360?

It won't work.
and I pressed that little button on the top of the controller.

 

[Syntax]

When syncing up a controller you have to press both the sync button on the controller and the sync button on the Xbox 360 Console. The button on the console should be a small circular white button.
