I use my Wireless router to go online on both my Wii console as well as my laptop.
I have an wireless router from my friend, Jimmy.
I use a Nintendo USB Connector.
I have a wireless router, excellent connection speed even though the router is a good ways away from the wii. :ihih:
Wireless router for me to
Wireless router for the wii and my laptop, also run a cable from it to my 360.
I can't use my wii online  my wireless router isn't the right type...
Is your router set to use only 802.11 g? Try to set it to use .11 b/g if you can.
Well i would, but i'm not a computer administrator.Though i could always ask my brother to set it to .11 b/g.
:mad2: I don't understand how to connect my wii to the internet... do you connect it to your modem or pc or what? Please help I've only just got it so i dont know much about it!
Jerry, you can connect the wii to the internet via two ways. If you have a wireless internet set up you can use that to access the internet from you wii. If you don't, then you can go to where ever you bought your wii and buy a USB wifi adapter for around $40. The adapter plugs into a USB port on the back of your computer and will allow your wii to share your internet connection.
Whichever one you have, the internet settings can be adjusted inthe options menu on your wii (Lower left hand of the channel's menu)
Thanks, Tairusu I am actually getting one of those wifi adaptors soon but can you tell me please once I have this adaptor can i go on the proper internet on my wii or just the wifi for the games? And can I also ask, how close does my wii have to be to my pc with the adaptor in it to gain access to the net because my pc is in my living room downstairs and my wii is in my bedroom upstairs?
 sorry about all of the questions!!! But I am thick!!!
I went to the shop 'virgin megastores' And they reckon that the usb wifi adaptor only acts as a booster for your wireless modem and it doesn't give you the internet on your wii unless you have the wireless modem/router is this correct?
I don't know how true it is, but you're better off with a wireless router in the end. That way you can access the internet from anywhere in your house/apt if you have a laptop or if you want to move the wii into a different room and still get signal.
Once you have the wifi set up you'll have full access to the internet both for wifi games and otherwise. You'll have to download the Opera Browser on your wii through the Virtual Console if you want to surf the net, it used to be free but now it's $5.
I don't know the range on the USB adapter, but a typical router has a very good range (My PC/Router is one floor down and about 45 feet away from my Wii and I get a great connection.)
You may have been looking at the wrong thing, the Wii's Wifi USB adapter creates a wifi network that your nintendo can connect to. You don't need an existing wifi connection to use it. Make sure this is the item you're buying:
