Mario Kart 64 Sound Problems?

Is it just me or is anyone else also having some sound problems with mario kart 64, especially in multiplayer mode. Sometimes when we're doing 3-player, the background music/sounds mute all of the sudden in battle mode or vs. Sometimes the sound just doesn't "sound" right. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with my sound system since it sounds great for everything else. Any insight on this would be great. Thanks.

I read somewhere about the sound messing up sometimes on multiplayer.

you aren't alone with this. Have you downloaded the upgrade yet?
i think it fixes the problem
