new to wii chat but have a serious and urgent problem !!

my wii just as of today will not allow me to connect to the internet and when i perform a connection test it just freezes in the mist of doing so and will only allow me to turn off the console and try again to get the exact same result. i wish i could be playing mw3 while i am waiting on snow to plow but i cant and i am fairly frustrated with the entire situation please help i am just boggled cuz im usually good with this stuff...any ideas would be greatly appreciated !!

How old's the Wii? Any similar problems to this in the past? I'd imagine since it's freezing mid-test you can't get an error code? Is the Wii hacked or modded in any way?
