I was just reading a few other threads in the lounge (namely Marisa's) and came to thinking about what the internet per-se represents in todays fabric of life [your life in specific]
I have to say that I have embraced the medium for a long time as I have always been embraceful of new technologies and look forward to change - good or bad.
For me the internet balances between the worlds largest library of information be it wisdom or crap!..and also the worlds biggest anonymous social gathering - to conceive that 10 years ago that any joe public could converse with great and untapped minds alike wasn't even on the radar, all with the stroke of a few keys on a box!
The ability to expel thoughts into the ether and possibly make people aware of your personal hopes, dreams, aspirations, humour, emotions and receive responses in return makes the internet the embodiment of existentialism through what essentially is electronic solitude.
I miss it when it's not there and curse it when it is...it takes too much of my downtime up and makes my uptime easier (especially in the industry I am in). I wouldn't be without it either way. It's tough to explain how you love HTML and web2.0 ha ha ha (**I'm not that truly sad**)
On the other hand, isn't it just for porn and linerider?
