Question for M+ Owners

I don't think it's necessary to unplug it, but it may be beneficial for battery life to unplug it when it's not needed.

If you boot a game that doesn't use it, I see two possible ways the console deals with it:

1. Since the game doesn't look for the wmp, it's not initialized and doesn't use any power and is basically ignored.

2. It may initialize just from being plugged into the wiimote, but the game is not looking for any data from it anyway, so it's just using power and ignored by the system.

If it's not needed for the game, its probably not a problem, but it may be using power causing shorter battery life.

I've actually been curious about this too. I just plugged my nunchuk into the wiimotion plus and lost winds seemed to play normally. There is a locking mechanism on the back of the motion plus so it doesn't come off while you're playing too. It's rather a pain to take out of the wiimote shell so I'm glad it works that way.

I don't unplug the m+, i always keep mine locked in.
