If you like Resident Evil like me sign This Petition!

Resident Evil 5 is a ps3 and 360 exclusive apparently, i'm personally heartbroken, hopefully the petition will make a difference! here's a quote from the petition it's well funny:

"These aren't casual gamers camping out everyday to get their hands on the Wii. These are the hardcore. They live and die playing video games. There will always be memories of Resident Evil in the back of their heads every time they come to play the Wii."

lol

Hopefully this will work, then I'll buy it, even if they have to compensate for the graphics, how about you?

forgive any ignorance/offense none intended

Happy New Year "2008"!

Well, Bishoy Nasry, I signed it because MS/Sony have bad reps, therefore, I will not buy their console.
But I still want RE5!!

Guys, think about it. You think Capcom doesn't know that ALOT of Wii players CRAVE RE5? There HAS to be a reason its not happening. Its been stated that RE5 is being delayed because they want to improve graphics (GRAPHICS!), for all you know their could possible be an immerse online mode which Wii lacks in. Possible downloadable content which Wii also lacks in. Possibly they want to make expansion packs, which Wii also lacks in.

Im pretty sure some of these have to factor in why they wont make it on the Wii. If they do make it on the Wii then it wont be for like 2 years after Xbox/PS3 release. Unless of course the new gen console is released because at this rate RE5 isnt gonna be released until 2009.

T3kNi9e is right, there has to be a reason why the Wii is not getting this game.
I know it seems odd, considering how well past games have done on Nintendo's consoles..(Re4), but this time Re5 is just sounding too superior.

I would love for it to happen, as would many..its just not going to anytime soon.

do any of you know how 3rd party games work?

first off a company like capcom makes a game... its not usually from the start one system specific just a generic computer game, that will work on every system it just need to be configured.. believe me they already know how to make it work on the Wii... anyways

they then show this new game to the major consoles and at first they make them bid for it... sony/microsoft will fight over a high demand game such as RE and in the end they come to some kind of contract agreement... the agreement will actually state along the lines of Sony has exculsive rights to this game for the next 12 months apon witch rights will be released back to capcom and can be sold to whoever after that time...

Sony and microsoft have always paid big bucks to try to land exclusive 3rd party games,"dont forget they dont have a ton of 1st and 2nd party games like nintendo"
and to the Game companies this is great the game could be a hit or a flop they dont know the big name will help sales but never garantees it...
so they get a big fat check from a console company before they even sell a copy of the game... then for every game sold capcom get say 10 bucks sony gets 30 and pays the other 10 for producing it.

here is the kicker nintendo doesnt play this game at all... very very rarely will nintendo pay for exclusive 3rd party game rights. they have a stong enough 1st and 2nd party library. for them to pay someone to sell there game on nintendos console is plain stupid....
nintendo gives you the pleasure of releasing your game" if it meets there standards" on there system... but in return they require more profit from the game sales than the other 2 system... say capcom gets 8 bucks per game nintendo gets 32 and pays 10 to make it... and capcom doesn't get a fat check before it hits the market...

so alot of times 3rd party games will come out on sony or microsoft first... But they dont acctually rely on gaming sales to stay in buisness sony and microsoft make a few other things too...lol unlike nintendo gaming is all they do

another thing though no one sells exclusive rights much anymore so almost always, just to increase sales down the line in 9-12 months when the contract expires most 3rd party exclusive games will pop on the nintendo and other system... 8 bucks is 8 bucks guys come on... and with almost 50% of the market share thats alot of money to turn your back on...

And because of nintendo'slarge share of systems world wide, alot of gaming companies may not like it but they will start releasing games on the Wii instead. just to get that big initial sale to cover the cost of creating the game in the first place...

Give it some time all your favorite games will make it to the Wii, and in a little more time if things keep going the way they are now, its the 360 and ps3 guys who will be waiting on great 3rd party games

This will never happen. You notice how pretty much ALL of the big A-List games aren't on the Wii? They all use hi-def graphics these days and the Wii just unfortunately can't compete on the same level, and RE5 is going to be extremely graphically intense, they would never release two hi-def versions and one worse-looking version. The Wii comes out with games that play to it's strengths, not ones that embarrassingly point out its flaws.
Get a 360 AND a Wii and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Game publishers only care about sales, thats all, if they thought the original sonic game would be a hit again they would sell it just the way it is, to them a sales a sale

and when it comes down game design you play to the systems good points, for 360/ps3 thats graphics

for wii its motion controll... so its highly likely that they will make another version with less comparable graphics but using complete motion controll instead...

you have to remeber it takes anyware from 6 months to 2 years to make most games, no one in the gaming industry including nintendo knew how big the Wii was gonna be...
there are probably alot of 3rd party games already designed based around graphics instead of controlls just for that reason...
but now with the systems being out a little over a year and nintendo still in the lead you will see things change.
They will eaither make 2 versions of a game from the start or they will make one and hope they sell enough copies to still be in buisness...
they are a buisness like any other, all they care about in the end is the money.

Why don't Capcom develop a Wii exclusive resi evil game but actually put effort into unlike the crap that was umbrella chronicles.

uh. please don't start with the petitions. bottom line is that they WILL NOT WORK.

Publishers are the one who makes most of the money. Developers come to a publisher with an idea and ask for funding to make the product. At times Publisher have no idea what the game looks like until very late in production. There's a huge article about it at Game Informer I think. Showing how Publishers can be greedy money grubbers who take advantage of developers, while it also shows how developers can basically steal from the publishers by asking for moeny to develop a certain game, then using that money for developing another game.

It is possible that publishers/developers will see that Wii has sold millions but as of right now, its only ahead of Xbox by a few million and only because of japan. Though, there's a higher chance of publishers knowing and care than the developers. Why? Because developers are HARDCORE gamers. and ALOT of hardcore gamers do not like the Wii. Why? Because hardcore gamers love graphics, online, headset chatting, and anything that adds extra to the game (Expansions, Gamerscore, DLC, etc.) So being a hardcore gamer, if chances are you like Xbox/PS3 over the Wii then you are going to make it on the console you like best and the console you think most hardcore gamers like.

Im pretty sure if you took a tally of the people who own Wii, chances are more casual gamers own the Wii than hardcore. Because even though most people here seem to be leaning more towards hardcore, the millions of casual gamers dont care enough to make posts on the internet.

Even though you have hardcore type games like Zelda/SMG/SSBB that will sell alot, its because even casual gamers can play it.
