Saddams sentence

I'd be content on if they killed or imprisoned him really. Simply because if they kill him, he'd indeed become a martyr, but also the uprising that'd come around afterwards is going to be devastatingly unpredictable...

But if we killed him then he'd just be out of the picture for good...
 
Well... If the death penalty is to be issued, it must be decided by a fair and impartial proceeding (not that courts shouldn't already be fair and impartial) with no outside interference. The problem with the Saddam trial is that there doesn't seem to be anything impartial about a US-controlled court with US-controlled evidence and a US-selected jury all under the guise of a "new democracy". I sure hope that's not the real meaning of the word "Democracy".
