Splinter Cell problem

Okay. I'm up to the level where you have to defuse the four bombs in the engine room of the tanker that the bad guy wants captured. However, I've defused them in all manner of orders, including the 1234 type, and I still get blown up after the 30 seconds that comes up when defusing the first one finally expires. What am I doing wrong?

Use the electronic goggles to see which wire needs to be cut. Each bomb has 4 wires (select wires by pressing right on the analog stick). The wires need to be cut in the specific order (the goggles highlight which wire needs to be cut next.

NOTE: it doesn't matter which order you defuse the bombs.

I did all that, if you select the wrong wire the bombs explode right away, but still can't get past it. Is there something else in the level that I have to do? Or do I have a faulty disc?
