Targeted Google Ads?

The advertisements on the front page are sometimes inappropriate for the site. Not in a bad way but just completely random. For example look at this screenshot

Google AdSense just finds words on the page to cater to. In theory, you could have a thread about Jeeps, and there would be Jeep ads. Perhaps someone spoke about a tank in that thread?

Since I have adblock, I really do not care though.
