The Console Wars: It's in Our Blood

Just think you don't find too many atari fanboys and thats partly why the Jaguar flopped. These guys are the early adopters. With out them used games and price breaks would not even happen. It's painful brain deaden to talking to them some times yet I give them lots of props for putting their money where their mouth is.

There are plenty of atari fanboys, the company itself just gave up on consoles for a while after getting pounded into the ground by the new 8, 16, and 32 bit systems... Then they try to come out years later with the "expensive" but cool 64 bit Jaguar. Most of what fans Atari had were playing on other systems by then. They only related to atari when it came to there "classic game play" Atari fanboys still make and play atari roms for there old system today.. Just goes to show how quick your fans opinion of you will change if you change. And the fact Atari itself has changed owners so many times.

I look at Gaming companys much like sports teams... if you move the team to a different city or drop your star players in hopes of attracting new fans most likely your going to risk loosing a lot of your current and old fans in the process.
Thats why its gonna be hard for Sony and MS to compete with Nintendo this round. The "Family friendly system" isn't anything new to Nintendo fans, but it will put a bad taste in the mouth of alot of diehard Sony and MS fans if they try to change over to this style of gaming aswell to pick up sales.
