My son is interested in The Orange Box for the PS3 but isn't fond of STEAM accounts. Does anyone know if a STEAM account is required for the PS3 version?

hmm... I doubt STEAM is required, but I've only used the VC I'm not exactly used to buying things off of the internet.

It's gonna be crap on PS3 apparantly, they said something about lots technical issues, making it almost unplayable..

It's a compilation of 5 Valve games. Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2. It's supposed to be released for the PS3 Dec. 14th. I'd like to order it for my son for Christmas but he won't want it if it has anything to do with setting up a STEAM account.
