Urgent help needed!

Okay I'm in some temple thing that the spirit in the spring told me to go to after restoring light to the first area. Now I'm in a area with small 'islands of land connected by bridges etc.

I have to get past a stone with a spiral on it but it's chained and needs a key.

So I cross a nearby bridge and there are 4 wooden towers with propeller like objects on top. These towers are connected by an inverted Z shape.

I obviously have to get the 'propellers' to turn to open the gate inhead but how?

I tried hitting them with the catapult but it didn't work.

Ok hold on now I have read I need 4 monkeys to get a boomerang?

I only have one monkey following me! The one who took the lantern to help me get across the fog.

You have to wait to get the boomerang before you can do the bit with the Z shape

How do I get the boomerang and the monkeys?

You get the monkeys by going into random rooms and unlocking them from the cages. Use the monkey u got to swing into the rooms

Just keep searching and you'find the monkeys.

You do know you can swing over to other rooms when there is a small rope hanging across.

If you can't, then you probably need more monkeys

yes i think the monkeys are mapped once you get the compass. everything else simply follows.
