What controllers do I need?

I just got a wii and want to be able to download the old nintendo games. Right now I have 2 sets of the Wii remote and nunchuk controllers? Do I need to buy the standard controller to play the older games? Will that work with Gamecube games? Can I buy gamecube controllers and use those with the NES/SNES/N64 games? Or can I use the controllers I already have for those games?

to play the gamecubes games you need the gamecube controller, to play the VC games you need either classic controller or gamecube controller. Now, I highly recomend buying the classic controller, since the set up of it is perfect for the games... the gamecube controller is just going to feel awkward and uncomfortable.

no...

when you play gamecube games, the wii just converts into a gamecube... in other words once you start playing a gamecube game, all the wii controllers and functions would just shut down. you will have to manually shut off the wii and turn it back on. like if you would with a gamecube
