Wifi Japanese Console Name

I am at my cousins house right now and I set up my WiiConnect24 using his WiFi USB Adapter. I did this about 2/27/07. Well about 1/2 hour ago my cousin was going to update his driver and it said (before the update) my consoles nickname was all Japanese Letters.

Why is this happening? If this needs to be repaired, is it free?

where did it show the console name as japanese characters?

on the pc showing wireless devices or on the wii screen?

(oh and you shouldnt double post, if you must, use the edit function)

It showed up on the PC screen. On the Wifi program.

ok, is that wifi program running through internet explorer? (or some web browser anyway? i ask as it may be set for mixed encoding..)

No it has a separate window. It runs at the bottom next to the clock. You can open it up in it's own program window.
