Wii from USA, games from South Africa - doesn't want to work

We got a Wii from the USA and a game from there as well that works perfectly. Now I've purchased 3 games in South Africa and they don't want to work - we get the following message: Unable to read disk.
Anybody got any advice for us ?

i belive games are region bound if its american it only plays american games & so on.
