Console #2 will sync and allow me to enter a game (e.g. wii sports- tennis). Once we get into the game, the #2 controller does not respond to any movements. I have re-synced the controller twice but I still get the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you mean 'Controller #2'?
Try hitting the WiiMote against your palm, followed by turning everything off at the switching and restarting.

Controller #2 works fine up to the point of beginning the game. For example, in Wii tennis, I can choose the player, hit the "A" and "B" button together. After that, when I move the controller, the player will not move. If I put the cursor (as shown by a hand) over the player, the player is highligted by increasing in size. Yet the player will not move.
