Alienware Curve Display

32bit Windows will allocate up to 4GB-video RAM. I have an 8800GTX 768MB card, so I get 3.2GB of my 4GB.

Only 64bit OS's will allocate more than that and Windows desktop OS's will only allocate up to 8GB. Server software and some Linux software will allocate more.

What's funny is all the people running XP who think it's some great thing to have more than 2GB. It doesn't make a crap bit of difference for anything but video/database/compiling. That's be shown time and again, yet these elitist freaks who insist that anyone who doesn't over-clock isn't a PC guru ignore the truth.
