I beleive the GCN mock-up was an potential idea, but dropped.
You can plug in a regular GCN controler into the Wii.
Why make a mock up when you can plug in the regular gcn controller in?

lol, cant wait for online play for wii, knowing nintendo im guessing it will be quite well admined, so fewer cheats and glitchers, unlike CS (central station, ps2)
