Feature To Help Eliminate some redudant threads

A neat new feature to help prevent people from creating new threads for previously asked & answered questions would be to do what some support sites do. When you try to submit a question to some support sites, it will first bring up a list of possible answers based upon the text of you question; if you don't find an answer then there is a button to continue creating a new post.

Is that even possible to add? I just say if the question has been answered, they need to be referred to the FAQ section, or it must be updated frequently to keep up with certain questions.

Yes, but not every poster would use that feature. Especially new type of posters who enjoy asking repetitive questions.
