Information about Wii and Mario Kart

Hello!
First of all, i'm sorry for my english, it's not very good.
Second, I'm doing a research for one of my classes and I need to learn everything about Wii and Mario Kart.
I've already read a lot of sites, but I think that a topic in a forum will help a little more.

Can someone help me posting informations about Nintendo Wii's Hardware and Software? I need all the little details and explanations...
Does anybody know in what language Mario Kart for Wii is written? And how about other technical specifications?!

questios about the wii console that does not stand vertically

Hi. Im about to buy a wii for my kids. I have found that the new super mario bros. game is the package i want b/c its a better game for my 5yr old than the mario kart, but i found that the consoles that the super mario comes with does not stand vertically nor is backwards compatible and the console that the mario kart comes with does stand vertically and is backwards compatible, is this true?. If so, i guess need to buy the console and game seperately. My question is: is there something else I should look for in the console? i see there is white, black and 2 special edition colors, red and blue so not sure whats best. thanks for your help.
