With the roids issue, the mlb either needs to jack up the punishment for using and try to get ride of these things completly or they need make it legal. This who whose using to whose not is killing baseball. Every time someone breaks a record or does something great, everyone automaticly thinks they are on steroids.
To be honest I wound't mind making roids legal. They would never do it, and the media would rip the mlb apart but all they do is let the guys heal faster after workouts. So instead of working out 3 times a week, they can work out 5 times. Meaning they will get stronger. They still have to put in the time and the work ethic.
I completely disagree.
First off the policy is fine for steroid abuse, they just have to make there are no more slip ups. Current policy is as follows: First positive test resulted in a suspension of 10 games, a second positive test resulted in a suspension of 30 games, the third positive test resulted in a suspension of 60 games, the fourth positive test resulted in a suspension of one full year, and a fifth positive test resulted in a penalty at the commissioner’s discretion. Fine as is. You cant make the first suspension 50 games cuz they are constantly adding new 'drugs' to the list.
And by you saying all it does is make you heal faster is a load of bullshit. Yea for that year you might be feeling better but thats cuz your body is so wired up that it doesnt know up from down. Which leads to long term damage.
And I'll say it again steroids DO NOT improve your baseball skills, which are hand and eye coordination. The steroid ONLY helps IF you make contact with the ball. Granted this is only as a hitter. The steroids do help a pitcher more then the hitter, but again wear and tear comes into effect here.
