no i dont think so. its prolyy something like two teams racing.

Yes you can play SSBB online with two people at one console. You need to go to wifi and then team battle and then the second player can enter by hitting start or whatever. Never done it but I know it's possible.

In mario kart team play is referring to the battle mode not having ffa.
