You're assuming that people dislike the PS3 because of jealousy. Tell me, what stops them simply admiring it or actually liking it? It's not something that they "simply cannot have". Why should I be jealous of something that I can decide whether or not to buy? Also, don't you mean that I'm "taking it" out of context. They don't merely hate him for his "decision making skills". They dislike him for various reasons. Simplifying reasoning for a disliking to a specific thing isn't going to help dispell the bad feeling.

I for one dislike Playstation because of their PR department (of late) and it's shameless plugging of the Blu-Ray. Other factors may also add to my distaste (especially of the PS3).

i didnt read everything, but rly isnt it about gameplay, orgionality and stuff like thar? i mean, if someone wanted to make a game with top of the line, heck, higher than the top of the line gameplay and the gameplay of, not a horrible game as thats not fair, but of a mediocre game that ppl always said was maybe a 5.5 out of ten, would the, awesome graphics raise this things score too much? not rly imo. it would get old looking at the beautiful scenary and bad gameplay

And here we have a big list of drawbacks:

BluRay- the reason the price exists.
Price- only the richest people can afford, if you're the average Joe it could take you a month to save up for a single PS3 game.
Controller- no rumblepack and crap turning motion thing no games use.
Size- Not in the slightest bit portable. Too delecate for one thing.
Buggy- buggy as hell, when it first came out most game forums were flooded with "WAH DUZ MAH PS3 NOT WORK AWW" threads.

I think I'm just about finished.
So if you're playing with a bjillion dollar big black box that just looks pretty with some ruined franchises, you're crazy.
Oh and ChronoFox, thats all well and good but, it ISN'T a little cheaper. Because of stupid BluRay technology.

Now kids, this is why we dont do drugs. This guy assumes that because you have higher graphical capabilties, you must therefor lose out on good gameplay. This is illogical, and yes, stupid. Also, he points out that blue ray is some how expensive and unnessary. Well, lets see... CDs are cheaper than DVDs, therefore they are expensive and unnessary right? By this argument he should be not be playing anything with a dvd. But lets take a look at reality, the more room a disc can hold, the more game content can be put on a game disc. Meaning, bigger games, more indepth games, more freedom for game developers. Bigger is better. Doesnt have to use it all, but bigger is necessary for next gen gaming. Games on the PC right now are already going upwards of 20 gigabites.

He also assumes that consoles cannot share similarities with computers. Theres no law that says they cant, or shouldnt. He complains about the size, well a 32 inch tv is bigger and bulkier than a 12' one. Does this mean that the smaller one is better because it can be moved around easier. The PS3 is clearly not designed to be moved to every slumber party this kid goes to. Its a home entertainment device.

Hes pretty good at making up imaginary drawbacks to attack a system, when in fact he seems to know very little about that which he talks about himself. His bias is clear, and illogical.

:mad2: This is very stupid now. if bigger is better then they wouldnt have made a "smaller" xbox or the slim line ps2.

As far as tv's, the inches might be bigger but the tv is most certainly not. You can get a flat screen plasma that is way lighter than a 52 inch big screen tv. plus when the ps2 came out people might have bought one but sales went even futher when the price dropped. The slim line was better than the chucky original.

Im sure the ps3 will have a price drop, not anytime soon. when it does i bet the sales sky rocket. most people say "probably cause you cant afford it." thats true to an extent. most people would rather spend money on other things. most people live in apartments not because they cant afford a house but for many other reasons. jobs, personal prefrence, just dont want one at this time, many reasons.

not only that people want some type of investment. something worth having to them. "if i put in this much money into it what will i get out of it?" most people do their research and would agree that as of right now they dont see the point in putting money in this system. cause if they do they probably wouldnt play it till mgs4 comes out or what ever the game of choice. and until then what can i play? If you had 600 bucks and bought a ps2 you would have a **** load of stuff to play that would keep you busy till the next game of what ever came out and still have money left for "other" things.:hand:

There's no right and wrong here, the PS3 looks great, it will have some great games, Home looks good and it's a lovely looking console.

The XBox has almost the same quality graphics (I said almost so don't flame me here) and has the best online network out there.

The Wii has inferior graphics to the rest of the competition but that's not why people buy it, nor is it because it's really cheap. It's because the controls on Wii are totally different and breath some new life into games which seem to be a little stale at the moment.

If I had the money I'd get all the "next-gen" consoles (and when PS3 drops it's price I'll probably have one), they all have their own benefits.

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU Put sport games! Generally sports games are all the same! i could take NHL 2004 it would be the same as NHL 2008 and there not even that fun! most people don't like sport games(except wii sports:blush2:, and mario sport games )and the motion sensing in the ps3 remote is **** i tried playing motorstorm with tilt and it was the crapiest thing in the world! Oh and ya almost ever ygame on the darn list is for the 360 as well, making it better cuz you dont have to use that sixaxis or watever its called controller!And as the ps3 song goes "Killzone sucked before what makes you think we want it more!"The only good games on that list(im going by reviews) is resistance(ill stick with Graw or halo or Gow) and warhawk(that game looks pretty cool...). really...VIVA wii60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And tho i dont agree with your quoted persons aspects on that Ps3 has completely ditched gameplay for graphics. I DO believe that they have a much higher focus on it then gameplay. And the only good thing i really see about bluray is you need less Disks. Which has never bothered me if its 1 or 5, really now - if that bothers anyone they are just lazy.. its not like you switch them often.

good point. thats what was ****in them too was the blu ray stuff. thats what made the ps3 so much. i mean remember valkery profile. that was two disk long for the ps1 but no one was complaining then when it was remade it was one small umd.

and why are the graphics the same as the xbox but the xbox plays dvd's still. the ps3 plays blu ray disk that means more content but what content is that? i wanted to know about that. i mean does that mean the games that xbox is taking from playstation will have to lose content that was originally for the ps3? enlighten me.
