Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Announced-1.052009-12-15 10:03:01Maura SLucasArts has today announced the continuation of the Star Wars® Saga with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, the sequel to 2008’s Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is still the fastest-selling Star Wars game ever, with sales of almost seven million units worldwide. It also received many awards, including the WGA Award for outstanding achievement in writing for videogames.

In the sequel, players will again take on the role of the Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, with events taking place during the largely unexplored period between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Executive Producer Haden Blackman and his team have been able to build on the core foundation of the award-winning original and create a powerful combination of engrossing story-telling and intense action. The Force Unleashed II gives fans an opportunity to wreak havoc on an even greater scale in the Star Wars universe,” said LucasArts’ president Darrell Rodriguez.

Individual platforms have yet to be announced, but as the first game included a Wii version, we’re pretty certain this one will too. Probably. Fingers crossed.
