There is some talk about the new Tony Hawk "Ride" According to Wii.qj.net

Video game critics aren't among Tony Hawk's favorite people right now. The pro skateboarder recently struck back at critics who slammed Robomodo's Tony Hawk: Ride, saying that they just weren't ready to give the game a fair shake.

"They were ready to discredit it before they even tried it, and if it didn't play exactly how they imagined it... then they passed it off," Hawk told the Sudbury Star in a phone interview.

The number of critics who presumably "passed it off" have resulted in Ride's PS3 version getting a low 47 score on Metacritic. The Xbox 360 version fared a little better at 48, while the one for Wii has a 61 score.

The Birdman also added the following on his Twitter account: "Most snarky critics had their minds set before ever seeing/playing the game. I'm proud of what we created; it's innovative, responsive & fun."

Speaking of responsive, Hawk also defended the game's board peripheral in the Star interview. "I don't agree with people who say the board's not responsive," he said. "I think that they're just not giving it a fair shake. And I think a lot of them came into it with an attitude that it's going to suck."

"I know that (Ride) is super fun, and I think there's a misconception that I just stick my name on a game," he continued. "I brought this idea to Activision, and I saw it through, I've been playing it every step of the way and I am very proud of it."
