Wii Console not responding

Not sure if this has been answered in a previous thread. If so, I'd really appreciate a link to it.

Here's my problem. Console turns on and displays main menu on tv. At this point, I'm not able to interact w/it. I've tried new batteries in remote, held remote sync button for 30 seconds, held reset button on console for 15 seconds, had a friend bring his sensor bar and remote (nothing worked). ???? Uggh

You might try using a classic controller to move the pointer. Also did you try pressing the sync button on the wii itself and on the remote at the same time?

thanks for your help. being the the newbie w/this, i didn't hit the wii sync and remote at same time. works great now. my kids haven't stopped playing!!
