very scratched up but does what it's supposed to. three games: Bugs Bunny in double trouble, sonic 1 and 2, with original plastic cases for the games.

$30 canadian for all, no tax. pricey but that's only three hours minimum wage here. and sonic kicks butt :yesnod:

I'm posting this hoping some people know more about it than i do. what are the good games for it, and which games suffer the most from poor lighting? and just how bad is the tv antenna picture quality, in case i want to watch sports on the go?

I'll bring it to a coffee shop just so some kid can go "hey look at that really old psp!" lol

Its a ok price for one and you got two of the main good games on it.
What you need most of all is a rechargeable battery pack.
The Game Gear drains battery's in about a hour. It can be played off the mains via a Mega Drive (not 2) power pack.

Games wise I link to this nice site
http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki/Master_System_and_Game_Gear#Game_Gear
You can get a Master System converter for it to play them games on the go, but be warned games with loads of text are hard to play via that (Ultima IV is a big offender)

The TV tuner is ok. For the time it was great. These days its a bit arsey (and don't work in the UK anymore), but one handy little thing is you can make a areal lead for it so you can connect anything that uses the aerial socket on it

it was meant to be competition for the game boy, but the size, the poor lighting, the battery life, and especially at the time the price kept it from being sucessful. i only bought it as an odd collector's item, although sonic is very fun.

The screen is backlit
It was only annoyingly hard to see in direct sunlight

that's a matter of opinion really, i had to position gg just right to view sonic and it was annoying enough for me. i don't have to worry much about direct sunlight in newfoundland though...

It's easy to say I was overpriced when you don't understand the finer points of Newfoundland economics. I can paint backyard patios and fences for three hours and buy that game gear no tax, no delivery and no risk in the mail. Southern US is naturally much different.

Anyway I finally drained the batteries and it's amazing how well today's high tech batteries work on that old piece of junk  and great to bring it in public and have a good conversation. Further sonic kills 15 minutes so well compared to newer games that will take over your life. Thumbs up for me

edit- just noticed your last post. Question: do you noticed the picture fades when the batteries are low? Maybe it's just me.

i dont wanna say it's your Gamegear but i haven't noticed that happening to mine.maybe its because i was into the Game to much.

Also does your Gamegear sound work(Gets LOUD) and with the Scratched up screen,is it hard to see the Game or what.on Amazon they sell Gamegear Replacement Screens Right Here:http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-S..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1304703478&sr=8-1 but its cheaply made. and It's $12 for the screen. you can go on Ebay and get Another Gamegear with 1 Game and use that Screen plus you get a Extra Game and a Better Screen

i have all the Gamegear games you have except Sonic 1. Hope you get more Games for Your Gamegear.i advise you get the Powerback. It's an Accessory that you Charge for 8 Hours (i Know 8 hours) then you hook up to your gamegear and when your batteries are about to run out you turn on the Power Back and you get 2 Hours of play time or you can play it without Batteries.

cool. just mind that double posts get frowned on :frown5: just a head's up.

That Game Gear is FAIRLY rare on the island and getting accessories here would be a case of finding private collectors willing to give it up. Will consider that all the same, thanks :)

The Gameboy was Just as big as the Gamegear.in Most of my pants,My Gameboy Barely fits in my Pant Pockets. and If You stand a Gameboy and a Gamegear Vertically, the gameboy is barely Shorter

Careful with the posting loads of times in a row.

Theres a edit button for a reason.

The Game Gear has loads of decent games you dont need half the curd they made for it. Just the battery pack
