Can you play against others on line

Nope, and you won't be able to with any game until next year. Apparently, games released during the 1st Quarter of 2007 (Jan., Feb., Mar.) will support online play, or at least some of them. I know Super Smash Brothers Brawl is confirmed to have online play.

It's 2nd Quarter of 2007. It will be a new channel called wii games, or something like that. We'll have to wait and see. It may be possible later for people to hack their Wiis to host stuff like Zbattle. Either way we should see a lot of online games later next year.

Nintendo is notorious for not following through with plans. Honestly i wouldnt expect online play until late 2007.
