i got my wii from japan thru a friend of mine, unfortunately i can't see the change language button in setting panel at all. is there any way to update with english firmware? where can i download english firmware.

basically youre screwed anyway, unless you have a good source for the region code games to match your wii's

Yeppers, you have a Japanese Wii for a reason, its to play it in Japan !!

English firmware I am sure will not be released by Ninty - BUT I have been known to be wrong 1 pct of the time

Looks like you lucked out Even if you can change the system language to english you'll still only be able to play Japanese games
