Contra!

When it comes to the VC, I'm putting classic games high on my list. You know, the games I grew up with and the games I want my kids someday to love as well.

So why has Contra III been released, and not the original, in all its 8-bit glory? Don't get me wrong, Contra III's an okay game; but if the original Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong deserve a VC release, I think Contra does too.

I think the focus for Nintendo this year has been variety mixed in with a few high quality games. It's not bad, but hopefully they used this time to narrow down the problem areas. Nintendo promises more games released weekly next year. So we'll see.

I'm wondering about bandwidth. Is it like their manufacturing where they're afraid of expanding their network and adding more servers, etc.? They have no idea how long the Wii is going to be in high demand so they haven't built a new factory. I'm wondering if they're using the same philosophy for online play and their VC games.

phantasy star 4 (sega)
shining force 2 (sega)
7th saga (enix)
secert of mana (squaresoft)

hopefully they start bring what made them and not all this crap.
